WiFi and Bluetooth Hacking
The HTCIA Asia Pacific Chapter was proud to welcome some of Hong Kong's leading experts to provide a free hands-on workshop for members only on Saturday 26th July 2008.
Alan Ho, Anthony Lai and Sang Young of PISA all contributed to a fascinating study of the latest threats to WiFi and Bluetooth enabled systems - particularly timely given HK's recent roll-out of free WiFi services in the territory.

Spyware Analysis and Reverse Engineering
Saturday 18th November 2006 saw a unique Workshop held in the Microsoft office, in Pacific Place III, Admiralty HK. Two Tawanese experts in the field of Spyware were flown to HK to deliver an extremely stimulating seminar on latest developments in Spyware writing and analysis techniques.

The morning session saw the 'Birdman' Jeremy demonstrate the new stealth techniques existing in the latest spyware variants which can evade traditional anti-spyware tools. The self-authored malware was demonstrated in a virtual environment and shown to be capable to extract personal data through a firewall.
In the afternoon, PK took over the workshop & demonstrated how to analyse spyware effectively. Using largely open-source tools, he demonstrated how to examine the impact of different types of spyware and how to mitigate the effects.
